12 years clean today. When they portray people like me as a drain on society, never forget that they are the ones who tried to flush me. I survived because I decided to live.

Thank you all for letting me (hopefully) spread joy and resilience and empowerment into your feed and thank you to everyone I’ve worked on projects with over the years. We marched, we gave speeches, we made art and community, we started new projects and salvaged old ones, we kept what we needed and left the rest behind.

We laughed and cried and hoped and prayed and best of all we took concrete action to build a better world and we are so good at it that they are terrified of losing their ability to flush the toilet and blame it on their victims.

They are terrified because the way of life that lets them do that is now circling the drain because enough people see it for what it is and are turning away from the past to help us make the future.

I am living proof that when we focus on hope and joy and love and possibility, and when we take action every day to improve conditions, we can leave behind the things which destroy us.

I did it with crystal meth and together, we’ll do it with empire. Here’s to the kind of persistent and magical progress that only shows up when you work for it every single day.
