Authoritarian regimes count on compliance through intimidation. Most regimes function because people voluntarily hand over their freedom.
But we do not have to comply with illegal orders. Birthright citizenship is a constitutional law of the land. Deleting the constitution can't make it go away. If ICE shows up at your workplace, you can ask to see a warrant and if they don't have one, they don't get in. Speech is still protected by the 1st amendment, you cannot get in trouble for telling the truth. You have freedom of religion, you are not bound by the sectarian edicts of a faith you don't practice.
This is a land of justice if we make it a land of justice.
Stay safe out there and guard your energy! I'm thinking about the idea of gray rocking when it comes to handling narcissistic abuse. Look that up if you're curious!! We do not have to react to things that have no legal effect and will be struck down on challenge. Stay focused on what matters and the avenues that exist for getting things done. Organizing is more powerful than isolation. Self care is more powerful than doomscrolling. Love is more powerful than fear.
They are counting on us to just give up, roll over, and let it happen. The answer is no.
