I've been thinking a lot about the word "America" lately.
It's not just the name a brutal empire coopted for itself. It's a name that was given to an entire hemisphere during a period in history where a place to escape the brutal empires of their day came into view and captured the imaginations and hopes and desires to be free that are built into our cosmic hearts - the divine autonomy that is our birthright as children of a creator so radical that we are sometimes overwhelmed by the sheer weight of responsibility and the cruel consequences of failing to live up to that responsibility.
It's true that empire immediately took advantage of the moment, mapped its own perverted concept of a "Doctrine of Discovery" on to those hopes and authorized terrible crimes using god's name in vain, and at some point we as humans need to face up to the fact that we're still letting people use god's name like this.
That doesn't make those things "America". Quite the opposite, it is America that reveals those things for what they are.
America is not a nation, it's not a land mass, it's not a political jurisdiction, it's not a false flag operation for the demonic forces which rule this world - it's a magical word of power that can be used to invoke the courage, strength, resilience, and raw energetic freedom that animates us all. It can be used to liberate us from the forces which seek to dominate all people everywhere when we see it not as a place or a thing or a government, but as a force of nature that is encoded into our very being.
Use it in your prayers, your spell work, your meditations, and your inner transformative work to activate these ideals. And then embody them in your resistance, your community work, and to the people around you still under the spell of empire.
America. There, I said it!! So mote it be.
