Today felt really good to live through. Even though this victory was cultural rather than political, it felt like something massive shifted—and that matters.
The organizers made a fatal mistake trying to transform loyalty to Donald Trump into loyalty for Kid Rock, TPUSA, and a manufactured culture war. Against the pop-cultural gravity of the Super Bowl and its halftime spectacle - treasured American traditions - they had nothing. The movement's cult-like power cannot be transferred to its apparent successors.
Cult experts have been telling us this, and now we can see for ourselves. They threw the entire weight of their echo chamber behind that concert and it still couldn't hold. They proved beyond a doubt that they cannot maintain a coalition even with their leader still standing.
It's already over. Let that sink in. IT'S ALREADY OVER.
I know, ICE is still out there and those warehouses will soon begin to fill. There is a massive backlog of legislative abuses to roll back. But all of it can be torn down. All of that is within the power of the people if we can just hold it together a little while longer.
One day soon, we will wake up to the news that McDonald's has finished the job Jack Smith started, and the sentence for treason has been carried out. We will dance in our city streets the way Bad Bunny danced through his, and the healing can begin.
In a way, maybe it already has.
